Colorful nail art decorations

This time I wanted to post about nail decorations. 

I did one pair of nails using colorful nail beads seen below.  I painted my nails pink and added the beads using see-through nail polish as a glue. I ended up having candy-like nails.😊




I also then used beads like these to add some extra to my green nails. I also painted one nail brighter than the rest to make it stand out. 😊

Black on white and white on black nailpolish

Tonight I'm going to a party and I wanted my nails to match my black and grey dress! I decided to go with two nail polish colors silverish white and black and have them nicely "overlap" each other.

I sorta mixed and matched the two colors and the contrast I think is awesome!😉 Plus they really stand out because of it!

Hint; these kinds of thin nailpolish brushes are really great for adding extra details like I did!💅

Easter Nails

So Easter was a couple days ago and  I wanted to make my nails have something to do with Easter.
Since I haven't drawn images on my nails very often i decided to just paint pictures on my thumbs and then make the other finger nails a spring like color.

I decided to paint a bunny and a chick on my thumbs. I took a normal thin paint brush and painted the pictures on with nail polish.

 I painted the shapes of the animals and then for the faces I used the nail decorations and nail art pens seen below. I used the black decorations for eyes and the pink decorations as a nose for the bunny.

 Then for the rest of my nails, I painted them with nice bright colors to represent spring. I used the sponge effect and painted my nails with triple colors.

I painted a strip of each color on the sponge and then pressed the sponge over my nail. I had to do this several times in order to get nice bright colors. 

I then finished off my nails by adding some sparkling see-through nail polish and adding some flower nail stickers. :)

Gold nail foils

Black and gold fit well together, they look very formal and the colors make your nails stand out! This time I used gold nail foils to make these nails. This  is what gold nail foil looks like:

It can be squeezed into a ball to fit a small jar like this and once taken out it can gently be spread like this. Its a really interesting nail art tool.

I first painted my nails black and then I cut smaller bits to fit onto my nails. Then I used see-through nail polish  like a glue to get the foils to stick and I pressed them on the way I wanted. ( I wanted to put the foils slightly diagnoly.)

The foil is hard to get on perfectly but the nice thing about it is that you can press it on in a way that it looks very smooth and you can cover small holes with smaller pieces. ( applying more foil onto the nail doesn't make the nail foil look thicker.)

You can fix some parts where the black nail polish shows also with similar colored gold nail polish.

Then you just cover the nails with couple layers of protecting see-through nail polish and you're done. :)

Pink with crazy stripes

So, this week I got this done whilst experimenting with my nail polishes:

I keep trying new stuff with the nail polish tools I got and this time decided to play around with the thin nail polish brushes I have. They are fun to use as drawing tools, although of course they are more challenging to use when compared to nail polish pens, as pens are easier to control.

It was fun to see that the mix of colors looked good. I started by painting my nails pink and I wanted to then add black and silver stripes/lines to add contrast.  I got to admit that when I started I wasn't even sure if it was going to turn out well but happily they did. :)

But as I was just experimenting I didn't get pictures of the process and therefore I decided to paint my toe nails the same way to then get atleast some pictures of the process.
I started by applying black wavy lines onto my nails and then once dry I added silver coloring to the sides of those black lines.

The colors then ended up working really nicely together. :)

I'm still figuring out the right way to get pictures of the processes and at the moment I'm using a selfie stick but I'd love to hear about other tactics on this.

I'm also going to be ordering some new really cool nail art stuff so hopefully I'll be able to get even more exciting posts soon!!! ;)

Saw it, tried it, learned it. - Space nails

This time I want to share how I saw something while searching for nail art ideas, fell in love with the idea, tried it and succeeded!!

I had seen these awesome space themed nails online and I noticed that the methods seemed quite simple. I had just recently learned how useful a sponge can be in nail art and so I decided to take this as a challenge.

Firstly I chose colors which I wanted to use: Black, blue and white and again I took a make-up sponge. The make-up sponge was to be the main tool for applying the nail polish.

Firstly I applied the base color which was this time blue. Then once dry, I started with the black nail polish and applied it to a corner of the sponge. When applying the nail polish to the corner of the sponge it is important to first dab the sponge onto paper to get some of the excess nail polish off.
Then I gently dabbed the corner of the sponge to the areas where I wanted black. I wanted black on both sides of my nails.

After letting that dry I moved onto the white nail polish and started the same way. I dabbed some of the white nail polish to the other corner, dabbed the excess nail polish off and then applied it to my nail. I wanted the white onto the middle.

Like what happened to me, I noticed that a lot of the blue started disappearing which wasn't the point, so then with a third corner of the sponge I also dabbed some more blue onto the nail. (You really want all three colors to show)

The last step involves adding glitter ("stars"). For this step I used nail glitter (though I bet some others may have used glittery see-through nail polish.)
I first covered my nail with just a shiny see-through nail polish to work sort of like glue for the glitter, then with the brush I sprinkled some glitter onto my nail.

Then as a little extra I added a pink and green dot to couple nails to represent planets.

The last step of course was covering the nail with a protecting gloss once dry.

To be honest once I was done I didn't know if I had really succeeded cause my  fingers were so full of nail polish but once I got all the excess nail polish off from the sides, I was really happy with the results. :)

Make-up sponge for nail art?

I have seen many nails with multiple colors and the colors fading from one to the other but only recently did I learn how it's done! I noticed from nail art videos that people were using sponges to dab different colors to their nails. There are still many techniques with the sponge that I need to try out but I started with the easy one, using two colors and getting the colors to nicely swap to the other on the nail.

This is what I accomplished: Bright Spring colors!

I tried this technique using a make-up sponge...even though I bet the sponges seen on the videos were not. 😀

I started by applying a base color which was this time white. Then the next step was as simple as this; I took the sponge and took the two nail polishes I wanted to use and spread them half and half on it. 

Then once I had spread the nail polishes on the sponge I pressed it onto my nail like a seesaw (one side to the other.) 

As you can see in the picture below the color if very light the first time, so the process needs to be done atleast three times to get a nice bright color.

Again as this technique gets nail polish all over your skin, I used the liquid latex to protect the skin around my nails. It really helps in the end when you need to get the excess nail polish off!😉

 I then finished off the nails with some sparkling nail polish!
